Fire crews early Monday morning were battling a brush fire in the hills above Fremont, and the initial investigation indicated its cause was suspicious, according to the Fremont Fire Department.

Firefighters from the Fremont Fire Department and Cal Fire were challeneged by steep terrain and limited access for vehicles, fire officials said.

They looked toward the deck of their Fremont home.
Thatâs when they saw the fire.
âIt all happened so quickly, but what I remember is that the fire was up by the window,â he said.
The Potters would escape the blaze uninjured.
But fire, smoke and other damage would destroy contents of the Fremont coupleâs home â including decorations for their daughterâs wedding planned for May 29.

The fire department estimates that less than an acre burned.

One unit was sent back to the park at 5:30, but cleared the scene in less than a half hour.

Alyssa said she will never be able to give Nagy her Mother s Day gift, a shadow box of photos of Nagy s mother and a quote Nagy always told her daughters growing up as the two often loved to celebrate the annual holiday.
