Luck of the Seahawk: UNCW a Winner in Tourism Ireland’s Global Greening Initiative Wednesday, April 28, 2021 Though teal is its trademark, UNCW joined landmarks and buildings across the world in Tourism Ireland’s Global Greening initiative on March 17 in honor of St. Patrick s Day. The Office of International Programs partnered with other campus units to pose Sammy Seahawk with Study Abroad Ambassadors in Ireland scarves, holding an Irish flag in front of the Burney Center fountain, which glowed green in honor of the occasion. For its efforts, one UNCW student will receive a waived program fee to study abroad at Maynooth University next summer. The “pot of gold” includes tuition, housing, free round-trip airfare to the Emerald Isle and other associated costs for their education abroad experience.
