Albany County officials discuss coronavirus pandemic small business grants

Albany County confirms two new coronavirus deaths

ALBANY, N.Y. — Albany County Executive Daniel McCoy confirmed two new COVID-19 related deaths on Monday. The victims were a woman in her 60s and a woman in her 80s. The county death toll is 317 since the pandemic began being tracked last March. The county executive also announced 84 new positive cases. Encompassed within those new cases were 20 who had close contact with positive cases, 62 who did not have clear sources of infection at this time, and two are healthcare workers or residents of congregate settings. The county has 1,459 active cases in the county, and 2,646 people under mandatory quarantine. Conversely, 194 cases have been cleared for recovery and release.  

Coronavirus death toll in Albany County nears 300 total

ALBANY, N.Y. — Albany County Executive Daniel McCoy confirmed three additional COVID-19 deaths on Tuesday. The deaths included a woman in her 70s, a man in his 80s, and a man in his 90s. Those deaths brought the county death toll to 299 since the pandemic began being tracked last March.  “Unfortunately, I’ve had to report COVID-19 related deaths each day for the last eleven days. I pray for those Albany County residents we have lost and their families in this sad time,” McCoy stated regarding the latest virus victims. The county executive also noted 150 new positive cases in the county. Encompassed within the new cases were 35 who had close contact with positive cases, one reported traveling out of state, 107 who did not have a clear source of infection at present, and seven who are healthcare workers or residents of congregate settings.

Albany County confirms one new COVID-19 death; 173 hospitalizations

ALBANY, N.Y. — Albany County Executive Daniel McCoy confirmed the COVID-19-related death of a man in his 60s. Monday s death brought the total county toll to 296 since pandemic tracking began last March. The county executive also announced 151 new positive COVID-19 cases. Encompassed within the new cases were 32 who had close contact with positive cases, 103 did not presently have a clear source of infection, and 16 are healthcare workers or residents of congregate settings. There are 1,708 active cases in the county, with 2,700 people under mandatory quarantine. Conversely, 241 cases have been cleared for recovery and release.  On hospitalizations, McCoy noted there were 14 new hospitalizations overnight, and there are 173 county residents currently hospitalized from the virus. Additionally, 15 patients remain in the ICU.
