HRH Prince Salman also stressed the importance of further strengthening the Kingdom’s legal system through complementary cooperation between the executive, legislative and judicial authorities. Yesterday, Palestinian fighters in the Gaza Strip fired rockets toward the Jerusalem area and southern Israel, carrying out a threat to punish Israel for violent confrontations with Palestinians in Jerusalem.

The Daily Tribune – www.newsofbahrain.com Bahrain Journalists Association (BJA) issued a book dedicated to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa marking Bahrain Press Day. It included the signatures of more than 200 journalists, media persons, writers, photographers and media students. BJA recalled with pride the royal directive issued in May 2014 to observe Bahrain Press Day on May 7 every year. BJA Chairperson Ahdia Ahmed Al-Sayed said the book contained words written by the participants in the expression of their good feelings towards HM the King, the first supporter of journalism and journalists in the Kingdom of Bahrain. She added the press community in the kingdom wanted through this book to show their feelings towards HM the King marking the historical occasion and keep the initiative carved in the national memory. She paid tribute to HM the King for his unlimited support to the press and media field in Bahrain.

The Daily Tribune – www.newsofbahrain.com Applications are now open for the Prime Minister’s Journalism Award, which is now in its sixth edition, said Ali bin Mohammed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Information Affairs. Every press organisations or journalists working in one of the daily, weekly, local newspapers or magazines issued in the Kingdom in Arabic or English are eligible to apply. Eligible candidates should also have published their works during the year 2020. The award has four categories - best opinion column, best investigative report, best interview and best photo. The award committee will announce the winners by the end of June at a ceremony held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
