Bahrain is eyeing rapid growth to become one of the top filers of international patents and transform them into projects capable of boosting the job market. The development came as the Kingdom yesterday launched a “Technology Transfer” project to link the patent filing system of the Kingdom to the academic, production and services sector in the Kingdom. The University of Bahrain in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism and the Commercial Law Development Programme (CLDP), funded by the Middle East Partnership Initiative of the US Department of State, has launched the project.

Bahrain’s Labour Fund, ‘Tamkeen’, has announced its continuity of support for an additional period of 6 months for organizations operating in exhibitions, conferences, and gyms all within the Business Continuity Support Program which provides financial support to small and micro enterprises that were severely impacted by COVID-19.
The support will also include tour guides working in the tourism and hospitality sector who are registered with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, for a period of six months, in support of them due to the suspension of their activities in implementation of the precautionary measures taken.

Bahrain has strongly condemned Iran-backed Houthi militias’ attacks on oil tanks in Ras Tanura Port and Aramco facilities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with explosives-laden drones on Sunday.
During yesterday’s weekly online meeting chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Cabinet stressed the firm position of the Kingdom in supporting Saudi Arabia against all attempts targeting its sovereignty, security and stability.
The Cabinet said that such reckless actions threaten the lives of innocent civilians as well as the security of global energy-supply chains, calling it a flagrant violation of international law.
