Victim identified in Otter Tail County train fatality

The man killed when his pickup was hit by a train in Otter Tail County on Thursday has been identified.
Joe Mack, 60, of Ottertail, was killed when his vehicle was hit by a train southeast of the city of Ottertail at 8:48 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 4, an Otter Tail County Sheriff s Office report said.
The accident occurred at the railroad crossing on 308th Street, near the 406th Avenue intersection southeast of the city of Ottertail, when the passenger side of a Dodge Ram pickup truck was struck by a Canadian Pacific train.

ERHARD, Minn. (AP) Authorities in west-central Minnesota are investigating what appears to be a fatal shooting of a horse that was in a pasture.
Officials in Otter Tail County say they got the call about the horse in rural Erhard on Thursday.
Deputies arrived to find the animal dead in a pasture with what appeared to be a single gunshot wound. The horse was in the pasture with multiple other horses.
The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.

The Otter Tail County Sheriff s Office is investigating after a horse was shot and killed Thursday morning.
According to a news release, a horse owner who lives on the 30000 block of County Highway 43 in rural Erhard called to report one of his horses appeared to have been shot.
Deputies found the dead animal in a contained pasture with other horses. The horse had what appeared to be a single gunshot wound.
The horse s owner said he believed the animal was shot shortly before he called police at about 11:44 a.m. that day, but the exact time wasn t known.

ERHARD, Minn. (KFGO) – A horse found dead in a pasture north of Fergus Falls may have been shot.
The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office says the owner reported the horse was in the pasture with a number of other horses. Deputies called to the site discovered the animal had what appeared to be a single gunshot wound.
The shooting was reported late Thursday morning.
