Westfield Meijer opens

View Comments Meijer has opened a 155,000-square-foot superstore in Westfield at State Road 32 and Spring Mill Road featuring scan and shop technology, pick-up and delivery. The store is the retailer’s 15th location in the Indianapolis metro area and the fourth to open in five years, according to a news release. Meijer also has stores in Noblesville and Carmel. The new Meijer has a pharmacy, clothing department, baby section and large pet department, with 200 animal toys and 500 types of food and treats. “This new store reinforces our ongoing commitment to serving the needs of Hamilton County at a time when everyone is looking for a one-stopping experience,” Meijer President & CEO Rick Keys said in a news release.

View Comments Eli Lilly and Co. announced Monday that 25% of its office workers, or about 1,800 people, will return June 1 amid increasing vaccinations rates and expectations that COVID-19 infections will drop in the summer. The company will allow all of its workers back into the office by July 12, said CEO David Ricks during a news conference outside of its downtown office with Mayor Joe Hogsett. I know, like most of you, we re looking forward to seeing downtown Indianapolis thrive again as more people return to their offices or shops and restaurants, he said. And the best way for all of us to expedite that process is for Hoosiers to get vaccinated.

Man found dead in northwest Indianapolis, IMPD investigates

Indianapolis police are investigating a homicide after a man was found dead on the city s northwest side Friday afternoon. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to the 5500 block of West 43rd Street about 3 p.m. Friday, after receiving a report that a person died. Officers located a man with injuries consistent with trauma, according to IMPD.  The man was pronounced dead on scene. No other details have been released.
