Suicidal Man Shot And Killed By Police On Northeast Side
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) Three Indianapolis police officers shot at a 48-year-old man when he pointed a gun at them Friday night.
The man died later at Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital. He has not yet been identified.
No officers were injured, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said. The officers, who were wearing working body cameras, have not yet been identified.
Officers were called shortly before 6:35 p.m. Friday on a report of a suicidal man and shots fired into the air in the 3800 block of Red Mill Place. That’s on the northeast side in the Autumn Trails Apartments near North Franklin Road and East 38th Street.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) Police on Saturday identified the man fatally shot by officers when he pointed a gun at them Friday night.
Monolito Ford, 48, died at Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital after three Indianapolis Metropolitan police officers fired shots at him, an incident summary released Saturday said.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A homicide investigation is underway on the city’s east side, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
Police were called to the 1700 block of North Layman Avenue just before 4 a.m. for a report of a gun shot. Officers were able to locate the adult male victim, who was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police said the victim was found in an apartment where one other person was when officers arrived on the scene. That person is cooperating with officers.
No victim or possible suspect information has been released.
It’s unclear what led up to the deadly incident at this time.
