Workers found 3 stone sculptures with war heroes & a five-headed cow
MUMBAI: Three stone sculptures dating back to the 6th to 12th century were found while desilting the ancient Jamsar lake in Jawhar taluka, Palghar district, on Friday. The lake was declared a wetland by the village panchayat recently, and work of desilting the 6.6-hectare water body has been underway for a month.
On Friday, workers stumbled upon the sculptures that had images of war heroes and a five-headed cow, said villager Balu Dhakne. Work was halted and villagers informed Jawhar tehsildar Santosh Shinde, who visited the lake on Monday. Shinde said officials from the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) were informed. The ASI will be able to throw light on the artefacts, he said, adding that similar sculptures were found in 1986 in the same lake.

NEW DELHI: The pandemic may have slowed down life on earth, but it could not deter the world from looking beyond. As most activities came to a sudden halt, the space agencies across the globe persevered through the crisis. Some had to push back their crucial space missions, others struggled to keep them on track, while a few managed to script history.
Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) began the year with the launch of a high-powered communication satellite GSAT-30 on-board a European rocket from French Guiana. It replaced the aging INSAT 4A to continue providing high quality television, telecommunication, broadcasting services to the Indian subcontinent with extended coverage over Asia and Australia.
