Image Source: IANS News Chennai, April 26 : The Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation Limited (TASMAC), which runs state government-owned liquor outlets, saw a record sale of over Rs 252 crore a day before the lockdown was imposed on Sunday. A TASMAC release said it was the second time in April this year that the corporation s liquor sales had crossed the Rs 250-crore mark in a day. On April 3, three days ahead of the state Assembly polls, sales had touched the Rs 260-crore mark.

Image Source: IANS News Chennai, April 23 : As part of containing the second wave of Covid-19 ,the Union Territory of Puducherry has banned the sale of all liquor including arrack, toddy and Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) in bars and toddy shops from 2 p.m. onwards from April 26 to 30. A circular issued by Deputy Commissioner (Excise) T Sudhakar said that liquor, arrack and toddy shops will remain closed from Friday night till Monday morning when the Union Territory is going for a lockdown.

Tilaknagar Industries jumped 2.96% to Rs 36.50 after the company said it entered into an agreement with Pernod Ricard India to manufacture its products in India.Tilaknagar Industries has entered and executed an agreement on 1 April 2021 with Pernod Ricard India (PRIPL) to manufacture products for PRIPL at the company s bottling facilities in Maharashtra. The agreement is effective immediately and shall remain valid for the period of 10 years and shall be renewable thereafter by mutual consent. The co-operation could be extended to more states in the near future. Shares of Tilaknagar Industries rallied for third trading session. The stock has added nearly 24% in three days from its previous closing low of Rs 29.45 posted on 31 March 2021.
