Statesville Woman Charged in the Death of Infant

26-year-old Madison Cassidy Moore of Old Mountain Road in Statesville has been arrested for felony involuntary manslaughter.
She was charged in connection to the death of her five-month-old child on Sunday (April 25). On that date, Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers responded to Moore’s residence where the child was in respiratory distress. The child was pronounced deceased by emergency personnel. Moore was identified as a person of interest and interviews were conducted. A search of the residence was conducted and evidence was seized.

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Thursday, April 15, 2021, Road Patrol Deputies with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Dollar General Store located at 2147 Old Mountain Road in reference to shoplifting which had occurred.
Dollar General Staff members became suspicious when three females entered the store, then walked around inside the store for several minutes, finally exiting the store without making any purchases. The staff members reviewed video surveillance footage. It was quickly noted all three females had taken items off of some shelves and place them into their bags and purses.

Rockingham Man Charged With Stealing Identity Of Iredell County Resident

35-year-old Leon Junior Johnson of Rockingham, N.C., was arrested Thursday (April 22) by Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with felony identity theft.
On April 7, 2021 the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office received a report regarding ongoing identity theft. The victim reported charges had been made to his financial card which were fraudulent.
A detective made contact with the Sea Crest Resort in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Staff members at the resort verified the victim’s financial card had been used there to rent a room. The staff also said the suspects who had used the financial card were still at the resort. The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office contacted the Myrtle Beach Police Department for assistance in this case.

59-year-old Teresa Kiser Forrest of Porter Road in Statesville was arrested Sunday (April 18) by Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers. She’s charged with felony counts of trafficking opium or heroin by possession and transport, possession with intent to sell or deliver hydrocodone and methamphetamine, possession of ecstasy, and maintain a vehicle for the use or sale of a controlled substance. She’s also charged with misdemeanor counts of possession of marijuana wax and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Man Charged In Connection To Fatal Hit & Run Crash

32-year-old Joshua Ray Williams of Statesville was arrested Tuesday (April 13) on charges filed by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. He was charged with felony hit and run with serious injury or death and misdemeanor driving while license revoked.
Williams is charged in connection to a fatal hit and run collision that occurred March 4 on Old Mountain Road in Iredell County. 54-year-old David Morris Hawks of Statesville was killed in the incident, which was previously reported on WHKY.
