A group of 20 kayakers will be launching a challenging 95-mile journey for good causes. The group will be setting off from Pooley Bridge at Ullswater and from there embarking on the winding and wild Eamont and Eden rivers through the valley until their arrival at Silloth. Margaret Walton, a spokesperson for the group and fundraising participant of the event, will be following the kayakers with 15 other people as they disembark, collecting donations from passers-by. She said: “I’ll be dressed in a duck costume, so I can’t be missed! We’ll have friends and family on the bridges throwing flour over and cheering on the group as they reach every checkpoint in the journey.”
