The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) is set to launch the new Go.SmARTApp on April 22, a program that aims to speed up transactions and cut red tape in government.
The ARTA made the announcement following the signing of a memorandum of agreement (MOA) between the agency and Filipino software engineering firm Multisys Technologies Corp. on March 31.
In a statement, ARTA Director-General Jeremiah Belgica underscored the benefit of having a strong public-private partnership to deliver better services to the people, noting that the app is a donation by Multisys to ARTA.
“A private-public partnership is not just desirable but necessary for us to achieve all the dreams and aspirations we have as a country. Hindi po kaya ng gobyernong mabuhay kung wala ang suporta ng taong bayan (The government will not survive without the support of the people),” he said.

THE HOUSING backlog is expected to require up to P130 billion to close the deficit of about six million units, a legislator said at a virtual briefing Wednesday.
Representative Jose Francisco B. Benitez of Negros Occidental’s third district said the housing agencies are estimating a requirement of between P100 billion and P130 billion to address the backlog.
Mr. Benitez said it may take “15 to 20 years” to meet the demand for housing.
Mr. Benitez heads the House Committee on Housing and Urban Development which adopted House Substitute Resolution No. 1458 declaring a housing crisis.
The demand between 2016 and 2020 was 6.7 million units, of which only 770,000 were constructed.
MANILA, Mar. 12 All Trade Regulatory Government Agencies (TRGAs) are now mandated to get on board with the TradeNet, an interoperable online platform to reduce processing time and harmonize the permitting procedures involved in import and export, per the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA)’s recently issued memorandum circular.
The memorandum circular issued by ARTA last 5 March 2021 provides TRGAs with the guidelines for the mandatory onboarding with TradeNet, a move endorsed by the Ease of Doing Business and Anti-Red Tape Advisory Council.
The guidelines also provide the TRGAs with a timeline of activities that must be observed in the process of onboarding within a span of 10 weeks from the issuance of the memorandum circular. Failure to comply may be a ground for the filing of appropriate administrative sanctions.
