Sheriff Jonathon Horton said jail personnel received assistance from the Etowah County Health Department, the state Department of Public Health and the Alabama National Guard in administering the vaccines.
Dr. Joseph Clarence Cox, DMD, 41, remained in the Etowah County Detention Center Tuesday afternoon.
GPD Public Information Officer Sgt. Marcus Hill said search warrants were executed Monday at Cox s office, Gadsden Dental, located on Rainbow Drive.
Hill asked anyone with information related to the charges to contact Det. Anthony Devine at 256-549-4653.
According to online court records, Cox entered a guilty plea in circuit court in 2013 on two misdemeanor harassment complaints. He was found guilty on the charge in Fort Payne municipal court, appealed to circuit court, then entered the guilty plea in connection with complaints made in 2012 by a former female employee.
Southside investigators made an arrest Monday in connection with the robbery Saturday of a convenience store on Green Valley Road, according to Chief Blake Ragsdale.
Tyler DE Arrius Hill, 20, Leeds, has been charged with first-degree robbery. He was booked into the Etowah County Detention Center on $50,000 bond.
The robbery occurred at about 7:30 a.m. Saturday at the Marathon gas station, known as Woody s, at the intersection of Green Valley Road and Pilgrim s Rest Road, Capt. Jay Freeman said.
A man came into the store and pointed a gun at the clerk, demanded money, then took it and left the scene in a white four-door sedan that had been parked in the gravel drive behind the store.
