Bradshaw was reportedly sitting inside a residential garage while waiting for a ride. Neighbors said they heard a barrage of gunshots. Before Bradshaw could enter the residence, he was struck by bullets. He eventually entered the home and collapsed, bleeding.
Life-saving measures were performed as 911 calls were made. Deputies were called to the shooting around 3:45 p.m.
Medical personnel arrived and Bradshaw was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The victim did not live at the home, neighbors said. He was only visiting. Neighbors told the Star-Banner that the scene was frightening. They were scared and shocked that someone would shoot Bradshaw in broad daylight and not worry about the consequences or the prospect of hurting other people.
A head-on crash
The couple, who had been together for six years, died the night of May 27 when the motorcycle they were riding was struck by a pickup truck on State Road 200 a few miles from the Citrus County line.
In its press releases, the Florida Highway Patrol no longer publishes the names of people involved in crashes. As a result, Page and Heussner were not named in initial news accounts about the fatal wreck.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers said Page, who was driving, and Heussner were on a Harley-Davidson traveling northbound/eastbound, toward Ocala, on SR 200. A Chevy Silverado pickup, heading toward Citrus, was passing traffic on the two-lane road and hit the motorcycle head on, ejecting Page and Heussner.
