Results Provide New Evidence of the Recommended Formula Determined in the AREDS2 Study

(NYSE/TSX: BHC) ( Bausch Health ), today announced new data from the National Eye Institute (NEI) 10-Year Follow-on Study Results of the Age-Related Eye Disease Study 2 (AREDS2), which reaffirms the clinical outcomes of the AREDS2 study. Based on this data, the NEI continues to recommend a specific nutrient formula to help reduce the risk of progression in patients with moderate to advanced Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD).

An anesthesiologist and member of the medical staff at Dignity Health, d/b/a St. Joseph’s Hospital, brought a False Claims Act qui tam lawsuit against the hospital and Neurosurgical Associates, LTD, in which he alleged a bait-and-switch scheme whereby patients thought they were undergoing invasive and high-risk surgeries performed by highly regarded and experienced neurosurgeons. However, he alleged the surgeries were performed by inexperienced medical students with no oversight from their teachers. The alleged scheme allowed the experienced surgeons to bill Medicare for multiple surgeries performed by others at the same time, at the higher rate that Medicare reimburses for the highly skilled surgeons.

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) A proposal from a group of Maine Republicans to ban mandatory coronavirus vaccinations for five years is up for consideration by a legislative committee this week.
The lawmakers, led by Rep. Tracy Quint of Hodgdon, have based their proposal in part on the theory that coronavirus vaccines cause reproductive harm. Numerous medical authorities have said the claim lacks merit, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has stated there is “no evidence that any of the COVID-19 vaccines affect future fertility.”
