According to the criminal complaints, shortly before 2 a.m., Friday, Feb. 19, deputies with the Valencia County Sheriffâs Office were dispatched to 298 Meadow Lake Road about a disturbance at the residence, and were told a man was possibly shot in the chest.
When the first deputy arrived, he found a man lying face down on the ramp leading into the house and a second man face down on the floor of the living room. Both were unresponsive and not breathing. The two men were later identified as the Romero brothers, who lived at the house, according to a press release from VCSO.

(NYSE: CXW) (the Company) announced today that, effective March 1, 2021, it has entered into a 90-day contract extension with the United States Marshals Service (“USMS”) at the Company’s 2,016-bed Northeast Ohio Correctional Center. The USMS has notified the Company that it does not anticipate extending the contract following the 90-day extension.

Robert Baxter, 51, was sentenced last week to 97 months (8 years) in prison for one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute, distribution of five hundred (500) grams or more of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute fifty (50) grams or more of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine.
On Sept. 20, 2019 Duplin County Narcotics detectives served a search warrant at Baxter s home on Back Swamp Road. During the search, detectives found an ounce and half of 98% pure methamphetamine. On Oct. 16, 2019, Duplin and Onslow County detectives went to a home associated with Baxter on Dunn Road in Sneads Ferry. During that search, they found a quantity of methamphetamine and a digital scale.
