The Nigerian Army ‘s operation against the Eastern Security Network and Indigenous People of Biafra in Awomama Village, Oru East Local Government Area of Imo State was aided by local informants which led to the killing of top commander, Ikonso Don, and others, SaharaReporters has learnt.
Sources told SaharaReporters that Ikonso was also given away by some of his photographs shared on social media as well as by one of his friends, who had been in touch with security agencies for weeks, if not months.

Gunmen have attacked another police station in Ehime Mbano, Okigwe South Local Government Area of Imo State, killing five officers while one officer is said to be missing.
The armed bandits also razed the police building.
The spokesman of the Imo State Police Command, Orlando Ikeokwu, confirmed the incident to
Channels Television.
This comes two days after gunmen invaded the country home of the state governor, Hope Uzodinma in Omuma, Oru East Local Government Area of the state.
During the attack, they burnt part of the building and razed some vehicles in the compound, killing at least a security official.

Police authorities have deployed helicopters to Imo State to provide surveillance and prevent further attacks by gunmen on government establishments.
This comes two days after the country home of the state governor, Hope Uzodinma was attacked by gunmen.
Some gunmen early on Saturday attacked the country home of the governor in his Omuma hometown of the Oru East Local Government Area, killing two security operatives.
