ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz said Wednesday that the Broadsheet matter had once again exposed the âBanarsi thugsâ.
The minister tweeted that this case was a reminder of how the national interest was traded for personal gain. âThose who ruthlessly return to the national treasury must be held accountable,â he said. Shibli maintained that in the past, if these corrupt elements had not got NRO, the country would not have suffered so much.

Imran Khan has constituted a committee on the Broadsheet issue: Information Minister
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz has said that opposition parties want to misuse every platform just to pressurize National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Shibli Faraz, while talking to media, said that summoning Chairman NAB Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal in Information Committee is laughable.
The minister further said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has constituted a committee on the Broadsheet issue which will submit its report within 45 days and a notification in this regard will be issued in a day or two.

Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed served as Supreme Court judge for seven years
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal government on Thursday appointed Justice (r) Azmat Saeed Sheikh as head of the Broadsheet inquiry committee.
Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed served as Supreme Court judge for seven years and was part of the bench which handled numerous high profile cases including Panama case.
Justice Azmat was sworn in as SC judge on 01 June 2012. He was administered the oath by the then Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.
Justice Saeed was first enrolled as an advocate of the Lahore High Court (LHC) in 1981 and was subsequently promoted to advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Justice Saeed also served as special prosecutor of the Ehtesab Bureau in 1997 and was a member of the legal team prosecuting many high-profile cases at the LHC.

ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet on Tuesday formed an inquiry committee to be headed by a former judge of the Supreme Court or high court with the task to investigate in 45 days the “fresh revelations” in a verdict of a British court in the UK-based asset recovery firm Broadsheet LLC case and fix the responsibility on those Pakistanis who, according to the firm, had illegally benefited themselves and laundered money to off-shore banks.
“The committee would comprise one representative each of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Attorney General for Pakistan, besides a senior advocate to be nominated by the prime minister,” said Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz, who was accompanied by Minister for Science and Technology Chaudhry Fawad Hussain and Minister for Human Rights Dr Shireen Mazari, in a press conferen
