A new online scheduling system is available for Family Support and Assistance and should be used before visiting the building on Campus Drive Southeast. Appointment times will be available in the system beginning June 1.
All county park buildings will reopen on June 1, including the Oxbow Park Nature Center building, which will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., as well as park offices.
The Olmsted County Board of Commissioners meetings are operating in-person. Anyone who is a planned speaker at a board meeting should plan to present in person, if possible, at the Olmsted County Government Center in the boardroom. Members of the public are still encouraged to join the board meeting virtually through Microsoft Teams. Meeting links can be found in the agendas on the county s PrimeGov meeting site.

Olmsted County reported its 100th and 101st COVID-related death on Monday.
The county’s first death was reported in April 2020, and at least one has been reported during each of the following 13 months.
The newly reported deaths involved women in their 90s. Both were long-term care residents who were never hospitalized.

OLMSTED COUNTY, Minn. - Vaccinating children ages 12 to 15 was the topic of discussion Thursday among Olmsted County Public Health and Mayo Clinic experts and the response within our communities.
83 new Coronavirus cases were reported last week in Olmsted County, the lowest number since September.
Public health officials report 70 percent of Olmsted County s 16 and older population is fully vaccinated and they have begun offering clinics targeting the 12 to 15 age group.
Out of the more than 90,000 people vaccinated in Olmsted County, 28 people still caught COVID-19
While the COVID-19 vaccines are 95% effective, we re learning more about that 5% of fully vaccinated people who still get the virus.

ROCHESTER, Minn. - The COVID-19 vaccines are highly effective. However, a small percentage of fully vaccinated people could still get the virus.
When that happens, it s called vaccine breakthrough cases. It is possible that fully vaccinated people might have the infection, but are asymptomatic. Graham Briggs with Olmsted County Public Health explained if you get sick with symptoms after getting the shot, they won t be as severe as someone who is not vaccinated.
