Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A community-wide COVID-19 testing site will be operating in downtown Rochester this afternoon and tomorrow.
The Minnesota Department of Health, Olmsted County Public Health, the University of Minnesota, and others have teamed up to offer saliva testing for the viral infection to anyone wishing to be tested from noon until 6 PM today and noon until 6 PM on Saturday. The testing site is located on the second floor of the 318 Commons Building on First Avenue Southwest.
The testing is free, although anyone taking the test will be asked to provide health insurance information if they are insured. Appointments are not required, but they are encouraged and can be made by visiting the Vault Health website.

For the past 55 years, the Rochester Epidemiology Project (though everyone calls it “The REP”) has been collecting and categorizing records maybe 250 million medical and dental and psychological and educational records from 1 million patients.
Rochester Catholic Schools is also freezing tuition rates.

ROCHESTER, Minn. – The Rochester Catholic Schools (RCS) system says Lourdes High School will join its other four campuses with full in-person classes on February 1.
Lourdes is currently using the so-called hybrid learning platform for students.
“Over the past several months, RCS has implemented and managed various learning platforms at each of our schools to provide the safest and best educational experience for our students,” says Dr. John Wald, Co-Chair of the RCS Board of Trustees. “We remain committed to providing in-person learning as much as possible while holding the health and well-being of our community at the forefront.”

Mayo Clinic is moving forward with its COVID-19 vaccination process and is completing priority groups one and two this month before moving on to priority group 3.

Groups one and two consisted of front line health care workers and long-term care facilities while group 3 includes remaining personal that can’t work remotely such as dentists, optometrists and hospice workers among others.
