South Lyon Police are investigating a shooting that left one teenager dead and a second victim seriously injured.
The South Lyon Police Department says the homicide occurred Wednesday night in the 300 block of East Liberty Street. A release from the department states that a 17-year-old South Lyon resident was shot and died during the incident. A second victim, the boyâs 43-year-old father, was critically wounded and is in critical but stable condition at a local hospital. Names of the victims have not been released.

SOUTH LYON, Mich. - A South Lyon teen is dead and his father injured after a shooting Wednesday night.
Designating the incident as a homicide, South Lyon police said they were pursuing multiple leads after responding to the shooting.

Police did not release any information about the victims beyond their ages. The teen who died was 17 years old. His dad is 43.

SOUTH LYON, Mich. – Police in South Lyon are looking for information after a 17-year-old male was killed and his father seriously injured in a shooting incident overnight.
The South Lyon Police Department, assisted by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, is investigating the suspected homicide that happened last night in the 300 block of E. Liberty Street.
Police said a 17-year-old South Lyon resident was shot and died during the incident. A second victim, his father who is 43-years-old was critically wounded and is in critical but stable condition at a local hospital. The names of the victims have not yet been released.

The Oakland County Sheriff s Office is celebrating two citizens for their quick-thinking action to save a 9-year-old girl during a Magic of Lights event at DTE Energy Music Theatre.
In a Facebook post, the sheriff s office said two staff members, one from DTE and one from the Magic of Lights event, came to the aid of the girl who was choking after she accidentally became stuck in a seatbelt mechanism during the drive-thru light display earlier in December. After the parents pulled over and called for help, the sheriff s office said Rich Doran and Chuck Nelson ran over and were able to free the child.
Authorities have identified a person of interest in the fatal shooting of a Southfield husband and father, Fredric Hudson, 48, gunned down outside his home Sunday at around 7:50 p.m.
Southfield Police Chief Elvin Barren hasnât released the personâs name, but said he is a 25-year-old male with a âsignificantâ criminal history and ties to Southfield. While he hasn t yet revealed a possible motive, Barren said the shooting was not random and Hudson was targeted in the attack.
The person of interest fled the scene in Hudsonâs car, a white 2013 Toyota Tundra. Police are looking for the vehicle, with the Michigan license plate CPA-1749.
