COMMERCE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) â Officials are investigating after a butane hash oil explosion in Commerce Township.
The Oakland County Sheriff s Office reports that deputies and firefighters responded to a call in the 2000 block of Bass Lake Road for an unattached garage at a residence that was engulfed in flames.
Upon arrival, deputies encountered a man who was standing at the edge of the residence and had severe burns to his face, upper torso and lower arms.
Officials say the fire was the result of an explosion and the man had been in the garage at the time. He was taken to the hospital.
Deputies from the Oakland County Sheriff s Office responded to two people on Pontiac in two separate incidents Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 19-20.
Saturday, shortly before 5 p.m., deputies responded to a call about a man who had fallen down in front of the Perry Palace Party Store on North Perry.
The 51-year-old Pontiac man was unresponsive, with agonal breathing.

After Narcan was administered, the man regained consciousness.
When Star EMS arrived, the man refused medical attention or transport to the hospital. Deputies released him at the scene.
Sunday around 2 a.m., deputies were called to Newman Lane for a woman who was not breathing.
In September, an explosion and fire destroyed another Commerce Township house on the 3000 block of Abutus Street.
In a similar manner, officials said the house was a marijuana growing operation, and highly-flammable tanks of butane gas exploded and caused the fire, the Free Press reports.
Fire officials said the explosion was so powerful that it blew large bits of shrapnel across the street, and officials rescued two men in their 20s from the fire.
