COLUMBUS, Ohio The suspect killed in a shootout with a Franklin County deputy and a Columbus police officer on I-270 on Friday has been identified as 43-year-old Andrew Teague.
Around 3 p.m., Columbus police said they were following Teague, who had a warrant out for his arrest in connection to a felonious assault that happened in February.
Police noticed he had a handgun and stopped chasing, but a helicopter continued to follow the vehicle.
A short time later, deputies say they saw Teague pulled over on the shoulder of I-270 north. Deputies said Teague then drove away from them and went the wrong way on I-270 south.
PORT CLINTON - City officials are looking into the prospect of generating additional revenue from two services provided by the Port Clinton Police Department.
Port Clinton City Council members are considering two ordinances that would establish fees charged for when local police officers serve warrants and subpoenas, as well as for performing criminal background checks.
“When the Ottawa County Municipal Court sends out subpoenas or warrants, the Port Clinton Police Department delivers those within the city of Port Clinton,” said Dina Shenker, city law director.
Shenker explained that the city has not been charging for that service previously but there is local precedent to do so as the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office does charge a fee, along with mileage.
