Customs intercept 637 bags of foreign rice, other items worth N28m in Kwara

According to him, the sector has made appreciable progress in its anti-smuggling activities within the period under review from April to May. Customs hands over drugs seized from couriers to NDLEA in Kebbi

Dangote truck caught with 600 smuggled rice, three arrested

The NCS personnel also arrested three persons, including the truck driver, as they were conveying the consignment to the eastern part of the country. The Customs Area Controller, Peter Kolo, disclosed this on Wednesday at the monthly press briefing on the activities of the command in Idiroko. Kolo said the truck was intercepted in the Ijoun border area of Ogun State. He added that investigation was ongoing to unmask the persons behind the massive smuggling activity.

Customs Intercepts Contrabands Worth N50m In Katsina

  Officers of the Katsina Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, (NCS) have intercepted 18 contrabands with a Duty Paid Value of 50 million, 378 thousand, 800 Naira in Katsina State. The success recorded as part of measures and strategies put in place by the command to suppressing smuggling activities to the barest minimum and generate more revenue for the country. In a press conference held at the headquarters of the Katsina Customs Area Command, the new Acting Comptroller in charge of the Command, DC Dalha Wada pledges commitment not only to facilitate trade but also enhance Ease of Doing Business in the state. DC Wada asked those interested in the business of either importation or exportation to contact the command in order to become a licensed clearing agent that can operate anywhere in the country against running inside the bushes.

Customs Apapa command generates N65 4bn in April

By Chiazo Ogbolu Lagos, May 6, 2021 The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Apapa Area Command on Thursday said it generated N65, 463, 398, 355.85 in April. The Area Controller of the command, Comptroller Ibrahim Yusuf, at a media briefing, noted that the record showed an increase of N25, 585, 561, 139.92 compared to the collection of the same month in the year 2020. “This indicates a 64 percentage increase in collection, and an unprecedented record that has never been achieved in the history of Apapa Area Command,” he said. Yusuf said as regards anti-smuggling, the command intercepted tramadol and unprocessed wood and scrap copper wire with a Duty Paid Value of N1, 760, 506 363 in the month under review.
