POINT PLEASANT BEACH, N.J. (AP) A Newark man who stabbed two New York men during a Labor Day beach brawl at the Jersey Shore last year has pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated assault and a weapons offense, authorities said.
Juwan Roman, 18, entered his pleas Thursday as part of a deal with the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office. He faces up to seven years in state prison when he’s sentenced July 9.
Roman was 17 when the fight occurred in Point Pleasant Beach, but he eventually agreed to have the case moved to adult court in exchange for prosecutors dropping attempted murder charges.

JACKSON – A road rage incident that occurred on Maria Street in Jackson eventually resulted in an attempted murder charge being lodged against a 38-year-old male resident of Ewing Township, Mercer County.
According to the Jackson Police Department, on May 8 at 4:50 p.m., officers were dispatched to a reported stabbing incident on Maria Street. Police Officer Robert Reiff arrived at the scene and found a female who had sustained a large slash across her face. Police said the female was bleeding heavily.
Police said an investigation determined the female had been followed to her residence by an unknown male who initiated a confrontation with her over an alleged road rage incident. TOMS RIVER - A woman who dropped her cigarette while driving Sunday struck two pedestrians, a mailbox and two parked cars on Morris Boulevard, according to Toms River police.
Michele Ventriglia, whose age and hometown were not immediately available, told authorities she was looking at her lap to retrieve her dropped cigarette around 3:45 p.m. when her car drifted to the left and struck two pedestrians walking their German shepherd, police spokeswoman Jillian Messina said. Her car then hit a mailbox and two parked cars before coming to a stop, she said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ A Toms River couple has been charged with promoting prostitution and money-laundering following a yearlong investigation into activities at Spa 1800 on Lakewood Road, the Ocean County Prosecutor s Office announced.
Wayne Lefkowitz, 56, and Guihua Cui, 51, who are married, each have been charged with promoting prostitution and two counts each of money laundering, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said. The charges were filed April 28 and 29, he said.
