(WBRC) - The Clay County Sheriff’s Office assisted by officers from Lineville and Ashland Police Departments made arrests in a drug and liquor still investigation. On January 21, 2021 deputies and officers executed a search warrant at a residence on Bluff Springs Road Road in Ashland. During the investigation deputies located multiple illegal drugs including methamphetamine, marijuana and other controlled substances in pill form. They also found a functioning liquor still.

KC MAN FACING FELONY CHARGES AFTER ALLEGED HIGH-SPEED PURSUIT

A 52-year-old Kansas City man is facing felony charges after an alleged high-speed vehicle chase and subsequent foot pursuit in Lafayette County on Friday, January 26. According to a probable-cause statement, a law-enforcement officer attempted to stop a vehicle on Highway 13, however the driver sped away and turned westbound on I-70. The suspect vehicle traveled at more than 110 miles per hour, and the driver allegedly threw evidence out the window of the vehicle. Spike strips were deployed, and the suspect vehicle wrecked near the 40 mile marker. The driver fled on foot, but was located and apprehended a short time later. Authorities found a handgun at the site and located methamphetamine at the spot where Williams allegedly threw items out the window.

th District Court with Judge Mike Smith presiding: Jadarius Deqon Williams, on probation for the felony offenses of Injury to a Disabled Individual and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, was adjudicated and sentenced to 6 years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division. Driver Faces Drug Charges After Seaford Traffic Stop

A man has been arrested on drug-related charges following a traffic stop conducted by Seaford Police. According to police, an Acura was stopped when a check of the license plate indicated it belonged to a Buick. The driver parked the vehicle and started to walk away, but was detained by an officer. Police said a search of 38-year-old Dewayne Mumford of Harrington turned up a bundle of heroin and a baggie of cocaine. According to police, a search of the vehicle revealed an additional 19 bundles of heroin, some marijuana and some crack cocaine. Police also said Mumford was the subject of other court capiases.
