Two individuals face several charges including Arson following a traffic stop on Highway 39 near Halbrite, SK, around 5pm on Wednesday December 16 th.  Officers of the Weyburn Police Service CTSS unit and the Saskatchewan Highway Patrol initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle after being alerted by the Automated License Plate Reader.  As a result, the female driver is facing charges of Driving without a Valid Class of License, Impaired Driving, Possession of a Controlled Substance (x2), Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public, and Failing to Comply with an Undertaking.  A male passenger, found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest, also faces two charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance and one charge of Failing to Comply with an Undertaking.  Members of the RCMP attended to assist with the traffic stop as the vehicle was impounded for 30 days and the individuals were taken into custody and transported to the Weyburn Police Service station.  Further to th

Two Clarksville Men Sentenced In Hopkinsville Carjacking Case

One of the four people involved in a 2019 carjacking at the Hopkinsville Wal-Mart that led to a police chase and the shooting of a Hopkinsville police officer has been sentenced to 18 years in federal prison. Keith Kuzyk of Clarksville was given the sentence Friday by Senior District Court Judge Thomas B. Russell. There will be three years of supervised release following the sentence. U.S. Attorney Russell Coleman said “this lawlessness will not be tolerated in the Western District of Kentucky.” He added that anyone who puts families and law enforcement at risk through armed carjacking and shooting at a police officer should be prepared to face decades in prison.

Arrest made after months-long investigation into sale of meth in Brown County

The Brownwood Police Department issued the following press release Thursday: On Wednesday, Dec. 16 at approximately 11:45 a.m. officers with the Brownwood Police Department, Early Police Department and Brown County Sheriff’s Office executed a narcotics search/arrest warrant at a residence in the 100 block of Northline Dr. in Early. This warrant is the culmination of a months-long investigation into the sale of methamphetamine in our county. The resident of that home, 29 year-old Jasmine Dezarea Cobbin was reported to be selling methamphetamine and other various drugs from the residence at all hours of the day and night. During the execution of the warrant, suspected illegal substances were discovered which included over ½ an ounce of Ecstasy, approximately 5 ounces of Marijuana, under 2 grams of Methamphetamine and multiple grams of over a dozen different prescription pills.
