COVID-19: Antigen test must for travellers arriving at Kalyan station, says KDMC commissioner
Commissioner of Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation, Vijay Suryavanshi, today told Kalyan station authorities, Don t allow passenger s coming from out station or other states inside the city without antigen or covid test.
Suryavanshi visited Kalyan railway station on Thursday and found many passengers walking out without doing test. Kalyan railway station being an important hub, daily has thousands of passengers coming from outstations. He met the station manager and other concerned officials instructing to start the test at the station area.
The covid-19 positive figure that reached almost 2,400 on April 11, had come down to 200 in the last few days. But migrants from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal are returning back to Mumbai and getting down at Kalyan. Chances of the virus getting spread can t be neglected.

Maharashtra on Saturday reported a further decline in new COVID-19 cases with 34,848 infections coming to light. But the state also reported 960 deaths, an increase over Friday.
The caseload increased to 53,44,063 and death toll reached 80,512, the state health department said.

Maharashtra on Friday reported 39,923 new COVID-19 cases and 695 deaths, the state health department said.
The number of new infections dipped below 40,000 for the first time since March 31 when 39,544 cases had been recorded. On Thursday, the daily case count was 42,582.
The state s caseload now is 53,09,215, while the death count has reached 79,552.
Of 695 fatalities reported on Friday, 311 had occurred in the past 48 hours, 142 last week and the rest before the last week but were added to the tally now.
Once again, recoveries outnumbered new cases as 53,249 patients were discharged from hospitals, taking the total recoveries to 47,07,980, the health department said.

Maharashtra: 2 die of mucormycosis in Thane, 6 hospitalised
Two COVID-19 patients have died due to mucormycosis, a serious but rare fungal infection, in Maharashtra s Thane district, a health official said on
Wednesday. Besides, six other patients are currently undergoing treatment for the disease, also known as black fungus, the official said. A 38-year-old patient from Maharal in Thane rural and another one from Dombivli town died of the fungal infection while undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 care centres in Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) limits, the civic body s health officer Dr. Ashwini Patil said.
Six other patients were undergoing treatment for mucormycosis and two of them were admitted to the ICUs, she said.
