Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], April 30 (ANI): Director General (DG) of Maharashtra Home Guard and former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh on Friday approached Bombay High Court against the actions being taken against him by the state government.

Akola (Maharashtra) [India], April 29 (ANI): An FIR has been registered against former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police Parag Manere and several others for allegedly requesting a police inspector to drop corruption charges against Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) commissioners.
The complainant Police Inspector Bhimraj Ghadge in his statement has said that when he was posted at Bazarpeth police station, Kalyan, in 2015, Singh was Thane CP at that time. Ghadge had corruption and criminal misconduct case against the officials of Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation, including the commissioners of the KDMC.

MUMBAI: Maharashtra on Thursday reported 66,159 fresh coronavirus cases and 771 fatalities, taking the tally of infections to 45,39,553 and the toll to 67,985, the state health department said.
Also, 68,537 patients were discharged from hospitals during the day, taking the number of recoveries to 37,99,266, a health department official said.
Maharashtra now has 6,70,301 active cases, he said.
Of the 771 fatalities, 383 occurred in the last 48 hours and 165 during the last week.
The remaining 223 deaths had occurred in the period before the last week, but were added to the toll now as part of a data reconciliation exercise, the official explained.

KALYAN: A policeman suffered injuries after a shopkeeper in Dombivli town in Thane district unleashed his two pet dogs on a police team which visited his shop for flouting Covid-19 norms.
The police team along with the staff of Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation had visited the shop of the accused to take action against him and two others for not wearing masks.
