Govt notifies 200 posts as suitable for persons with benchmark disabilities

Srinagar, Apr 17: In a significant development, the administration of Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory has notified more than 200 posts as suitable for persons with benchmark disabilities.
According to an order issued by the Social Welfare department, a copy of which is in possession of Kashmir News Observer (KNO), around 200 posts have been identified in different departments along with categories of disabled suitable for them.
The move will broaden the scope of employment for persons with benchmark disabilities who are entitled for reservation in government jobs.

JAMMU, Apr 17: Kartikeya Puri, Tamanna Saini and Puneesh Puri brought laurels to Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory by clinching top slots in the most coveted 58th National Roller Skating Championship, held recently at Mohali, Punjab.
Showing their extraordinary grit and highest degree of agility, Kartikeya Puri bagged Gold medal in 3 Km Road Race under 17 years category (Boys), whereas in 9-11 years category (girls), Tamanna Saini showcased amazing swiftness and speed to seal 2nd position in the 1000 meters Rink Race and 3rd slot in one lap Road Race, thus bagged one Silver and one Bronze medals and Puneesh Puri won Bronze medal in 1000 meters Rink Race under 9-11 years boys category.

Each Adm Dept. to nominate Nodal Officers to counter media reports: LG
Jammu Tawi, Apr 8: In a significant development, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has directed the authorities in Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory to nominate nodal officers in each administrative department for responding to media reports pertaining to their department.
The General Administration Department (GAD) has directed the administrative secretaries that the LG has desired that nodal officers are nominated in each department for responding to various media reports and for furnishing factual position in respect of such issues to the directorate of Information & Public Information (DIPR) for publication through various means of media.

Jammu Tawi, Apr 01: The Covid vaccination drive for all above 45 years of age has commenced in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory along with whole India.
State Immunisation Officer Dr Shahid told that vaccination for all above 45 years of age was started in J&K on Thursday and on day one, over 43 thousand people got vaccinated. On Thursday 43,364 persons were vaccinated including 21,168 from Kashmir division and 22,198 from Jammu division, he said.
He said till date 823,781 people across J&K have been vaccinated.
Dr. Renu Sharma, Director Health Services Jammu said that on the directions of Government of India, Covid vaccination for all above 45 with or without comorbidity are eligible for COVID vaccination.
