Woman dies after being shot at Polo, Missouri, intersection

KANSAS CITY, Mo. â One woman is dead after being shot Wednesday at an intersection in Polo.
The Caldwell County Sheriffâs Office responded around 10:11 a.m. to an unnamed intersection, according to a news release, where the woman was found suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
A male suspect brandishing a weapon had fled the scene toward a ânearby wooded area,â the release stated.
Officers located the suspect, a 35-year-old Lawson man, east of Polo after a âlengthy manhunt.â He is being held at the Caldwell County Detention Center awaiting formal charges.

Clinton County Sheriff’s Office reports: Investigating domestic violence incidents, thefts

The following information comes from incident reports provided by the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO). All those arrested are presumed innocent until possibly found guilty in court.
The sheriff’s office recently processed these reports:
• Deputies arrested a 42-year-old Jamestown male for alleged domestic violence after responding to a report of a female being assaulted at 5 a.m. on Jan. 24. According to the report, deputies responded to a residence on State Route 134 South in Union Township and found a female subject with severe lacerations and other major injuries. The report indicates the suspect was the victim’s husband. The report indicates drugs may have been involved. No further details were listed.

WILMINGTON Multiple law enforcement agencies were at Clinton Memorial Hospital Sunday afternoon after employees and police were alerted to a report of a possible person with a gun about 2:30 p.m. But within about an hour, police gave the “all clear.”
“This afternoon, Clinton Memorial Hospital issued a campus-wide security alert and deployed procedures to secure the hospital in response to a report of a potential threat,” according to a statement from the hospital at 4:40 p.m. “Authorities have since investigated and determined that the campus is clear. The security alert has been lifted at our facility.

There is a fundraising website “Strong as a Behr” benefiting the family of Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife officer Kevin Behr who was shot and wounded Dec. 20 on the job in Clinton County.
The website was updated on Jan. 14 and indicates Behr was still hospitalized on that date but making progress.
The website states, “Our thoughts are with him, his wife Kathy, and their three children. We are hopeful for a swift and complete recovery. The road will be long though. Ohio Wildlife Lodge 143 has organized a fundraiser for Kevin and his family to assist them during the challenging times ahead. Please help us reach and exceed our goal.”
