LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) If the names Patrick and Tracy Mullaney sound familiar as being the Irishman and Irish Rose for the IrishFest St. Patrick’s Day Parade, it’s because they are.
The La Crosse couple, whose reign over the parade and other festivities last year was stymied when COVID-19 forced a last-minute cancellation of the parade last year, will celebrate their luck of the Irish as royalty for this year’s parade through downtown La Crosse at noon March 13.

La Crosse County health director going to DHS position

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) La Crosse County’s health director will be leaving the department to take a position as the Director of the Office of Policy & Practice Alignment with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.
Jennifer Rombalski has led the health department for five years. Associate County Administrator Jane Klekamp has been named interim health director.
“Jen will be missed but the dedicated, passionate and competent Health Department staff, with ongoing support from La Crosse County, will continue working with community partners to navigate the challenges of COVID-19 and to keep the community informed,” said La Crosse County Administrator Steve O’Malley.
More than 125 French Island residents have filed claims against the city of La Crosse for its role in the pollution of drinking water by a toxic group of chemicals.
