In the continued enforcement efforts against crime committed with firearms in the Lexington Park area, Sheriff Tim Cameron and the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office announces the formation and mission of the Youth Gun Violence Task Force that was originally implemented in July 2020.

The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is investigating recent thefts of catalytic converters occurring in the area. Many of the thefts have targeted work vehicles parked in unlit areas with no active video surveillance.
The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office encourages residents to park vehicles in well-lit areas covered by video surveillance when possible, to discourage thefts.

Citizens are encouraged to contact 911 for immediate assistance to report in-progress suspicious activity.
On Sunday, May 16, 2021, at approximately 12:40 p.m., police and emergency medical personnel responded to the Motel 6 located at 21847 Three Notch Road in Lexington Park, for the reported gunshot victim.
The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the identities of the persons shown in a burglary investigation. On Sunday, May 2, 2021 at 6:56 p.m., the suspects broke into a building and damaged a window at Maryland Rock on Abells Wharf Road in Leonardtown.
On Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 8:23 p.m., the suspect, who was not a registered guest, stole cash from the drawers at the front desk while unattended at the Holiday Inn Express on Abell House Lane in California.
