ISLAMABAD: The federal government is optimistic about introducing single national curriculum across the country from upcoming academic session starting in August.
“We have completed our arrangements and now books are being printed. From August this year single national curriculum will be introduced across the country at primary level,” said head of National Curriculum Council (NCC) Rafique Tahir while talking to Dawn, adding all provinces are on board.
“Earlier, Sindh had some reservation, but now it too has agreed to adopt core subjects but it will do make some addition that is its right and good thing,” he said and added that NCC has already asked all provinces to make addition if they want.

Intermediate and matric students across Pakistan want their exams, starting in June, cancelled.
On Thursday, they stormed Twitter with the hashtags #cancelboardexams and #PakYouthWantsJustice demanding the government calls off the exams like it did with Cambridge exams.
“The government itself is conducting online meetings but want us to risk our lives and sit for physical exams,” a 10th grader said. “How is this even fair?”

One of the loudest matters on social media this month has been the ongoing situation with Pakistani students and their board/CAIE exams. Students, with notable support from the likes of politician and activist Jibran Nasir and TV show host Waqar Zaka, have been fighting the cause, with Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood on the other side of the ring.
The most unsatisfying and inappropriate part of this very valid fight has been pupils crossing the line and being straight up disrespectful towards Mahmood . This is behaviour that cannot and shout not be condoned. No matter the cause, one must not misbehave with someone else, irrespective of their age.
