Minna, Dec. 23, 2020 The Federal Road Safety Corps, Niger Sector Command says three persons died in an accident that occurred on Bida/Mokwa road on Wednesday.
Mr Joel Dagwa, the state Sector Commander, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Minna that 18 other persons sustained different degrees of injuries.
He said the lone accident, which occurred at about 12:40p.m., at Gadafu Junction, about 25 kilometres from Bida town, involved a trailer with registration number DTN 421 XA.
“Twenty-one people were involved in the mishap; three were killed and 18 sustained injuries; they were taken to Umaru Sanda Hospital and the Federal Medical Centre, Bida, for treatment.

The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Osun State Command has urged motorists to comply with traffic rules and regulations and cooperate with officers and men of the Corps.
The Command also announced that there will be an increase in its operational activities along all roads in Osun State.
In a statement made available to DAILY POST in Osogbo and signed by the Routes Commander, Agnes Ogungbemi, the Corps Commander in Osun, Kudirat Ibrahim, said the patrol operations will be intensified, with continual public enlightenment.
She emphasised the collective responsibility of all Transport Union Executives in putting their members on their toes to do the needful.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says February 2021 is the deadline for the installation of safety valves in petroleum tankers.
This according to the safety corps is part of efforts to curb recurring explosions across the country.
The Corp Marshall, Boboye Oyeyemi made this known on Wednesday at its end of the year patrol briefing in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
Oyeyemi said the safety valves are essential to prevent tanker explosions and ensure that, “even if tanker falls, it won’t spill.”
Speaking on safety measures during the yuletide, the FRSC Boss guaranteed that the deployment of personnel to various tank farms will be extensively enforced.

Five persons were confirmed dead while others sustained various degrees of injuries in a ghastly motor accident involving an 18-seater commercial bus and an articulated vehicle on the Benin-Ekpoma-Abuja highway.
The accident, according to findings, occurred at about 11:30 am near Obagie community in Uhunmwonde Local Government Area of Edo State, on Thursday.
The 18-seater bus, it was gathered, was heading towards Ekpoma and was trying to avoid a pothole when it suddenly had a head-on collision with an upcoming articulated truck laden with baskets of tomatoes.
