Murder of Steroid King Brian Wainstein: ugliness of the underworld unravels

Cape Town â The group of 15 men, including key underworld figures appeared in the Cape Town Magistrateâs Court on Wednesday on a range of crimes including the murder of steroid king, Brian Wainstein.
Alleged underworld kingpin Mark Lifman, alleged underworld kingpin and leader of the Sexy Boys gang, Jerome âDonkieâ Booysen, alleged underworld kingpin Andre Naude, Samuel Farquharson, Jakobus Stevens, Egan Norman, Wayne Henderson, Anthony Amier van der Watt, Ricardo Maarman, Typhyenne Jantjies, Bevan Cedric Ezaus, Bradley De Bula, Kashief Hanslo, Rowendal Stevens, and Ismail Cupido were served with an indictment by the state and face 38 charges against them.
The 2017 murder of steroid king Brian Wainstein was reportedly planned by alleged underworld figures Jerome ‘Donkie’ Booysen and Mark Lifman and carried out by thugs affiliated to the 27s gang. In addition, the State also alleges that Lifman paid to have Cape Flats gang boss Ralph Stanfield.

Cape Town - Alleged underworld boss Nafiz Modack is a humanitarian who feeds thousands of people every day, and not a murderer or criminal, say his supporters, some of whom flew from as far as Pretoria to support him during his appearance in the Cape Town Magistrateâs Court on Friday.
Images of 100 litre pots of Akhni being given to hungry children were used on posters, asking: âIf Nafiz does not feed us, who will?â
Modack was whisked off to Pollsmoor Prison on Friday after his appearance alongside Jacques Cronje, Ricardo Morgan and Zane Kilian.
They appeared under heavy security provided by the AGU.
AGU head Major-General Andre Lincoln sat in the public gallery to observe at the end of a dramatic week packed with appearances by Modack, regarded by some as a gang kingpin .

One of Lincoln s officers, Ashley Tabisher, is a co-accused in a corruption case with Modack and Elsie s River mom Amaal Jantjies involving an alleged R10 000 and a cellphone in exchange for telling Modack when the police were going to raid his house.

Cape Town - Alleged underworld boss Nafiz Modack will spend his first night at Pollsmoor Prison after a week in the police holding cells and he has indicated he intends on opening a case of attempted murder against the Bellville Special Task Force.
His case, together with two others including Zane Kilian, will be moved to Blue Downs Regional Court for security reasons.
Modack, Jacques Cronje and Ricardo Morgan, who were arrested last week during a high-speed chase in Century City, were joined by Kilian in the dock at the Cape Town Magistrates’ Court on Friday morning for a list of charges relating to intimidation, kidnapping, extortion, money laundering, and contravention of the Electronic Communications Act.
