The East Cambs Community Safety Partnership is clamping down on graffiti following a spate of offensive incidents in Ely within the last four months.

A collaboration between East Cambridgeshire District Council and Cambridgeshire Constabulary has begun a crackdown on offensive graffiti.
The collaboration, named The East Cambs Community Safety Partnership, is clamping down following a spate of incidents in Ely with the last four months.
They are appealing for anyone with information including any video evidence which could have been picked up by doorstep footage between December to April to come forward.

An Ely PCSO for more than 12 years is taking early retirement amid funding cuts at Cambridgeshire Constabulary that aim to save £1.7 million.
PCSO Annie Austin declaring State 11 for the final time comes after Cambridgeshire chief constable Nick Dean announced last October that PCSO numbers would be slashed and a community safety team abolished this year.

“We’re here for victims 24/7 and I’d like to reassure them their voice will be heard and we will support you.”
This week, as part of National Stalking Awareness Week, the force will be highlighting the support available to victims and how to spot the signs of stalking behaviour.
A particular focus will be around the different methods offenders use to frighten victims and the mnemonic FOUR signs of stalking – fixated, obsessive, unwanted and repeated.
Another emphasis of the campaign, led by the Suzy Lamplugh Trust charity, will be on changes since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic and a notable rise in cyber offending.
