KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) â Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety police have ruled out a white Chevy Camaro as a suspect vehicle in the shooting of a 14-year-old.
Officers initially believed the car was involved in Fridayâs shooting in the 700 block of Florence Street where the 14-year-old girl was hit by a stray bullet while sitting on a porch holding a baby.
In a news release on Saturday, authorities say they found the Camaro with help from the community.
So far, no arrests have been made, and police are asking anyone with information to contact the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety at (269) 488-8911 or Silent Observer at (269) 343-2100.
Authorities responded to reports of a shooting in the area of Florence Street and Simpson Street this evening, according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety.

KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) â Police are investigating after a 14-year-old was hit by gunfire while holding an infant Friday, June 4th.
Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety authorities say police responded to the block of 700 Florence Street just before 7 p.m. for a report of a shooting but did not locate a victim while on scene.
Officials say that the victim arrived at a local hospital during the investigation. The 14-year-old Kalamazoo resident was hit by a stray bullet while sitting on the porch holding the infant.
