Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers say the driver of vehicle lost control, left the roadway, and struck the unoccupied building. The 21-year-old Kalamazoo resident sustained minor injuries, and was treated on the scene by paramedics. The driver was arrested and lodged at the Kalamazoo County Jail on an alcohol related driving offense.

Police responded about 1 p.m. to a report of gunfire in the 1900 block of South Burdick Street, according to a news release. Witnesses gave police a detailed description of a vehicle and the individual involved as officers were arriving to the area. An officer responding to the call intercepted the described vehicle. When the officer tried to stop the vehicle, the driver fled. They soon abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.
