Call for risk assessment on providing respite for carers once dependents are vaccinated Published: Sunday, 07 March 2021 11:41 A Mayo Deputy is calling for a risk assessment to be carried out on providing respite for carers where the person being cared for has been vaccinated. Sinn Fein TD Rose Conway-Walsh says all the staff in the care setting have been vaccinated and all the residents in the care home or district hospital have been vaccinated. She says this is now a real humanitarian issue.  Carers are crumbling with the pressure of not having had a break for over a year. Deputy Conway-Walsh says one carer told her she can t even bring her children for a walk as the person she is caring for is 86 and has dementia and needs 24 hour care.
