Jan 8, 2021 4:54 PM Palm Coast, FL - A lengthy investigation—the most extensive so far in modern Flagler County history—leads to the arrests of a murder suspect and his getaway driver. According to the Flagler County Sheriff s Office (FCSO), a suspect fired 16 rounds into a parked vehicle at a Palm Coast gas station around 3:30 in the morning on October 12th, 2019. The driver of the vehicle that had been shot fled the area and called 911 after the shooting. His passenger, 25-year-old Deon O’Neal Jenkins, died before paramedics arrived. The driver also suffered a gunshot wound. The events of that morning in October eventually led to what the FCSO is calling the most extensive investigation in the agency s history—involving over 20 local, county, state, and federal law enforcement agencies and over 2,000 investigative hours. Four armed men broke into an apartment on Bacher Street in Bunnell at about 4:06 a.m. on Jan. 6, pistol-whipped a resident, held him at gunpoint and stole two handguns and $2,205 in cash, according to a news release from the Bunnell Police Department.
Three suspects have been arrested: Jeremiah Daniel Cook, 21; Stephen Harmon Monroe, 22; and Carson Bova Ankrom, 18. All are Palm Coast residents. The fourth robber has not yet been caught, and the case is still under investigation, according to the news release.

Flagler County Sheriff s Office deputies acting on a social media tip caught two Matanzas High School students street racing on Belle Terre Parkway after school Jan. 6. Both were issued criminal citations.
“These guys thought they could have fun racing down the road putting others’ lives at risk, and now they will have to explain their actions to the judge, and hopefully their parents,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “I hope they learn their lesson and drive safely from now on. FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – More than a year after the initial search began, authorities have arrested two men in connection with what Flagler County deputies were calling a “true murder mystery.”
Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly said during a news conference on Friday that authorities across the country have been searching for the killer of Deon O’Neal Jenkins, a 25-year-old man who was fatally shot while sitting in a car parked at a Circle K gas station at Belle Terre Boulevard and Palm Coast Parkway, since October 2019.
