FPC lacrosse player Kylie Terrell to represent North Florida in national tournament

Kylie Terrell, a junior at Flagler Palm Coast High School, and a midfielder on the lacrosse team, will be representing Flagler County and North Florida as she competes in the U.S. Lacrosse National Tournament held in Maryland in May. Tryouts were held in Jacksonville for the North Florida team on March 28. She competed against more than 60 girls for a chance to be selected to play on the North Florida team, and was one of 18 selected to participate. The tournament is one of the largest women s lacrosse events, with over 60 teams competing. She also made the North Florida team in 2019, but due to COVID, the 2020 tournament was canceled. Terrell is excited for a second chance to play for this team at the national tournament, in part because it will give her an opportunity to showcase her skills in front of college coaches.

It launched its Covid-19 vaccination campaign in March. Having an “all hands on deck” operation, as Bob Snyder, director of the Flagler County Health Department, describes it, he jumped at the opportunity when owner and pharmacist Grace Benet contacted the department. She already had a waiting list of people wanting to receive the vaccine.

FPC sends three lifters to state competition | Palm Coast Observer

Duane Hagstrom has been coaching weightlifting at Flagler Palm Coast High School for 19 years. During that time, he’s coached many state medalists (both boys and girls), with his first state champion being Robert Paxia in 2008 (who now is the head football coach at Lake Gibson Senior High School). Since then, five more have joined the exclusive club of champions, and Isaiah Rivers, Domonique Bennett and Malakai Grant hope to be the next group of Bulldogs to join the group. On Saturday, April 10, FPC competed at the 3A-Region 1 championships. Rivers finished second in the region for his weight division (129), Bennett finished third (154) and Grant took fifth (199).
