As more states legalize marijuana, Walz says it’s time for Minnesota to follow suit. He’s argued that legalizing pot could bring in a new source of tax revenue if regulated properly, and it could reduce the number of people locked up for drug offenses.

Marijuana tax scholarships: CSU Pueblo offers aid to students

The scholarships will be targeted toward nontraditional students who are enrolled in online programs like health science and criminology. Students must be residents of the county and can receive up to $2,500. We had students who decided to attend and start this spring specifically because these were available to them, said Chrissy Holliday, vice president of enrollment management, communication and student affairs at CSU Pueblo. It definitely made a difference for the students. In order to qualify for the scholarship, students have to be enrolled in the spring semester and have a 2.5 grade-point average. It is available to students who are new or re-enrolled.

Pueblo County gives more scholarship money than ever before, pulling funds from marijuana tax KOAA News5 and last updated 2021-02-02 19:56:08-05 PUEBLO — Pueblo County is able to provide more scholarship funds than ever before. $1.95 million are going to help students afford college education this springs, as a result of pulling from excise tax of marijuana sales. These scholarship funds would usually only go to the Pueblo Hispanic Education Foundation and allow them to provide students with money. This time around, the county accepted applications for more distributors. “We felt that if we opened it up for entities to apply, we were going to have fresh ideas, a lot of innovation and those dollars would be competed for and we’d have some really good places to award, said Pueblo County Commissioner Garrison Ortiz.
