California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, the Largest State Criminal Justice Agency in the United States, Implements eSOPH Background Investigation System

SACRAMENTO, Calif., Jan. 26, 2021 /PRNewswire/ Today, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) transitioned to eSOPH, the industry-leading background investigation software system by Miller Mendel. eSOPH is specifically designed for law enforcement background investigations. The CDCR evaluated at least three other software systems before ultimately selecting eSOPH. By implementing eSOPH, CDCR will reduce their background investigation time by approximately 50% and gain access to tools and other cost-saving efficiencies.
The CDCR intends to process approximately 7,000 background investigations within the first 12-months. The CDCR will also be utilizing the integrated social media screening service, Experian credit report service,

SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif.

Sacramento County Sheriff s deputies have identified three people arrested in the shooting death of Johnny Michael Castro.
Deputies have arrested 23-year-old Jose Santana Leyva and 19-year-old Antonio Galvan for the January 24 shooting. No other information is available at this time.

A 24-year-old suspect was shot and killed by deputies after allegedly shooting and wounding a detective.
The shooting happened at night on Friday, Jan. 15, inside the Crestview North apartment complex located near Ranger Way and Rampart Drive, just to the southeast of the intersection of Manzanita Avenue and Winding Way.

RIO LINDA, Calif. A 59-year-old man is dead and a 66-year-old woman had been detained after an early morning shooting inside a Rio Linda home, a spokesperson with the Sacramento County Sheriff s Office said.
The shooting happened around 7 a.m. Thursday morning inside a home located along the 200 block of West E Street in the Rio Linda area of Sacramento County. Sgt. Rod Grassmann, spokesperson for the Sacramento County Sheriff s Office, told ABC10 that a 911 call came from a person who said they had been shot. That caller abruptly hung up.
