Assault Suspect Who Shot Off-Duty Detective Vehicle In Santa Clarita Faces Several Felonies
A transient was taken into custody Monday evening on several felony charges after he allegedly shot a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Detective vehicle with a pellet gun in Santa Clarita.
Around 6:30 p.m. Monday, deputies were alerted by an off-duty detective of a man walking eastbound on Soledad Canyon Road near Camp Plenty Road in Canyon Country carrying a rifle, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“The male was last seen entering the brush area north of Soledad Canyon Road,” Arriaga said.
Santa Clarita Elder Abuse Suspect Arrested After Assaulting ‘Elderly’ Family Member
A Santa Clarita elder abuse suspect, who was reported to be under the influence was arrested Monday after he allegedly assaulted an “elderly” family member.
Around 11:30 p.m. Monday, deputies responded to the 19800 block of Aldbury Street in Canyon Country regarding a family disturbance, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“Upon arrival, deputies observed an elderly male, with injuries, verbally arguing with a male adult,” Arriaga said.
During an investigation, deputies learned a physical altercation had taken place between the victim and suspect, according to Arriaga.
Man Physically Assaulted, Pointed Firearm At Family Member In Santa Clarita
A Santa Clarita man was arrested Saturday after he allegedly physically assaulted a family member during an argument before pointing a firearm at the injured person.
Around 10:35 p.m. Saturday, deputies responded to the 27900 block of Ashboro Drive in Canyon Country regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call for service, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“Upon arrival, deputies learned during a verbal altercation, the suspect physically assaulted a family member in front of the residence,” Arriaga said.
The suspect then pointed a firearm in the direction of the victim and witnesses while making verbal threats, according to Arriaga.
Containment Set Up After Man Allegedly Shot At Deputies With Pellet Gun In Santa Clarita
A containment in Santa Clarita was set up after a man allegedly shot at deputies with a pellet gun Monday evening, officials said.
UPDATE (8:40): The area has been cleared. Lanes in both directions of Soledad Canyon Road between Camp Plenty Road and Langslide Avenue in Canyon Country are open, according to Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s officials.
At around 6:40 p.m. Monday, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s officials received reports of shots fired from the wash off of Soledad Canyon Road in Canyon Country between Langside Avenue and Cedar Crest Drive, according to Deputy Michelle Sanchez with the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
Armed Drunk Man Arrested After Displaying Knife To KHTS Staff In Santa Clarita
An armed drunk man was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly displayed a knife to KHTS Radio staff and customers and later threw a meal at a custodial officer.
Around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to KHTS Radio on the 24300 block of Main Street in Newhall regarding a disturbance call, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“It was reported a male adult was harassing customers and brandished a knife on his person,” Arriaga said.
Upon arrival, deputies detained a man matching the suspect description, Arriaga said.
