Supported by the churches and run from Ingleton Church Hall, the Ingleton Foodbank supports families in need including any not receiving Universal Credit. Brampton and Longtown Rotary club raises £230 for good causes

THE ROTARY Club of Brampton & Longtown has announced that it raised £230 with its seasonal Santa Sleigh event in the two towns last month. The organisation was able to raise the money despite the event taking place with Covid-19 social distancing guidelines in force – meaning the sleigh didn’t stop as it toured the streets, different routes had to be used and Rotary members did not collect door to door. Branch president James Porter said: “The Santa Sleigh is one of our big fundraisers each year, but this year we couldn’t collect door to door. “We decided it was more important to take the Santa Sleigh out to cheer the community up and not be concerned about raising the funds.

Appeal to buy specially adapted trap for West Pinchbeck accessible riding group gets off to flying start thanks to donations from Spalding Lions  | Updated: 12:33, 09 January 2021 An appeal to buy a specially adapted trap to allow more disabled people to enjoy riding has got off to a flying start. Four Winds Accessible Riding Group has received more than £650 in donations since launching its appeal to raise more than £7,000 to buy a wheelchair adapted trap. Spalding Lions have generously pledged £500 towards the costs of buying a second trap for the group, which is based at Four Winds Equestrian Centre in West Pinchbeck.

Rotary Club raises £200 for good causes EVERY year, the Rotary Club of Llangollen drive a Santa Sleigh around the area giving treats to the children, bringing joy and collecting money for local good causes. This year however, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the event looked like it was going to have to be cancelled. But, the rotary club members did not wish to let the children down, so they voted to carry out a drive-by, with no stopping and no street collection instead. A donation button, on the Llangollen Rotary Club Facebook page advertising the event, resulted in them raising £200 which will now be handed out to local organisations.
