A roadside cross erected Easter Sunday on Mariposa Road pays tribute to Anthony Rhoades, a Hesperia High School graduate and political enthusiast who died in a car crash Saturday in Victorville.
“My family and I visited the accident scene on Saturday and I knew that I had to start constructing a cross for my cousin,” said Kenneth Jeremy Rhoades, 32, of Oceanside. “Losing Anthony has been devastating to all of us, but we’re doing all we can to move forward.”
Kenneth Rhoades told the Daily Press on Monday that Anthony Rhoades 15-year-old son, Aiden, and brother-in-law, Ray Reyes, helped design and construct the cross that now sits among flowers and candles.
