CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The Charleston County Sheriffâs Office says they are trying to identify a woman who allegedly posed as a Carmax employee and passed thousands of dollars in fraudulent checks.
Deputies say the fraud was first reported on Dec. 11 when a woman went to several dealerships on Savannah Highway posing as a Carmax employee.

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - One person is dead after a car ran off the roadway and into a pond in McClellanville Monday night.
Officials with the Charleston County Sheriffâs Office said it happened just before 7 p.m. on Pinckney Street near Lofton Court.
âOne deceased party was located inside the vehicle,â said Capt. Roger Antonio with the sheriffâs office.

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - One person and a dog has died in a two-vehicle accident in Charleston County Monday night.
The Charleston County Sheriffâs Office said it happened on Highway 162 near New Road in Hollywood around 7:10 p.m.
Capt. Roger Antonio with the sheriffâs office said the driver and a dog in one vehicle died, while the occupant of the other vehicle did not request medical transport.
Highway 162 is currently closed in the area.

The collision happened just after 5 a.m. Dec. 27.
The statement said Charleston County Deputies responded to a traffic collision involving a SC Highway Patrol vehicle.
The subject driving east in the westbound lanes near Cosgrove Avenue collided head-on into the SCHP vehicle.
Deputies said the SCHP vehicle was occupied by two SCHP troopers. All parties were transported to a hospital and released. The subject, identified as Rodney Gadson of Goose Creek, was arrested for driving under the influence.
