Govt asks people to follow NCOC guidelines against Covid fourth wave - Newspaper

KARACHI: The federal government on Saturday warned the people that the country was clearly witnessing signs of a fourth wave of the coronavirus pandemic and asked them to follow the defined standard operating procedures and get themselves vaccinated to avert major restrictions and losses. At a meeting chaired by President Dr Arif Alvi at Governor House, it was agreed that the implementation of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) guidelines was crucial in the current scenario. A statement issued by the Governor House said that the federal government was working on a sustainable development agenda for Sindh. The strategy promotes the sustainable use of resources to achieve the objectives of poverty alleviation and social development through the participation of the people of Sindh.

Daily Times July 25, 2021 President Dr Arif Alvi Saturday expressed grave concern over violations of COVID-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) throughout the country and said that the compliance of the guidelines was immensely important to prevent the fourth wave of the coronavirus and reduce its negative effects. The President said while chairing a meeting on the COVID-19 situation and development projects in Sindh province, at Sindh Governor’s House here. Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Asad Umar were also attended the meeting. President Dr. Arif Alvi said that the guidelines of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) were not followed on the occasion of Namaz-e-Eid at Faisal mosque Islamabad and the COVID-19 SOPs were being ignored. President appeals to public to get vaccinated soon July 25, 2021 KARACHI: President Dr Arif Alvi has appealed to the masses that they should get vaccinated against coronavirus infection at the earliest while at the same time they should act upon the directions issued by the National Command and Control Centre against the spread of COVID-19. The president issued the advice as he chaired a meeting here at the Governorâs House on Saturday. He asked the authorities concerned to make sure that the people fully act upon the standard operating procedures prescribed by the government against the spread of the lethal infectious disease. He asked Sindh Governor Imran Ismail to hold a meeting with the Ulema of different schools of thought before the commencement of the sacred month of Muharram-ul-Haram. The meeting should be held with the aim that the religious processions are taken out during Muharram in accordance with the government-prescribed SOPs for such gatherings.
